At first glance, I don’t associate Bicycle World with the coffee shop/ good wifi category, but they proved to be quite the hotspot (lol).
The tables aren’t all uniform creating an “at home” yet productive environment. The coffee shop portion is wedged between two ceiling to floor windows creating the best lighting situation. Cushions pepper the surrounding (also not matching) seats to provide cushion and a easy going comfort vibes.
The beverages offered are another nice touch. As an avid tea drinker, I appreciate their pure tea options with no extra flavorings and fluff. When I ordered a green tea, I got a green tea. No syrups, sweeteners or anything else to get in the way. Big fan of that.
But if you’re looking for sweet treat drinks, the bubble tea is something worth trying. To be completely honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked in to try bubble tea. I thought it was carbonated tea. It’s not. It’s a Japanese style sweetened milky tea with tapioca balls at the bottom.
I was leery of the tapioca balls. Very leery. But tapioca pudding is one of my absolute favorite earthly substances (don’t judge me) so I decided to dive in and try the small strawberry bubble tea. It was pink and delicious and after four or five attempts I actually started to like the tapioca balls at the bottom.
I overheard someone ordering a drink after me. He asked about the bubble tea and the barista proceeded to say:
“It’s interesting, its not for everyone….including myself. (He and the customer both laughed at this point. If there’s anything I appreciate it’s honest customer service. Bravo) It’s a Japanese thing that I guess took over the U.S.”
Overall I very much enjoy spending time studying/working at Bicycle World.
Bit on the expensive side for their size options, but taste is worth it.
great options, but limited. Couple tables support big groups, which is very nice.
Good amount of plugs! Easily accessible and didn’t have to fight someone for an outlet, which is always nice.
Not too loud, not too quite. Great music played just loud enough for my slightly ADD self to not concentrate on the couples conversation next to me.
Great. Best coffee shop lighting in my book.
