The lull of the last winter month is FINALLY over and spring season is finally here. This month is jam-packed with the best kind of events, and it looks like March is going to be a good one. Get your calendars ready, #wacotown, you’re going to want to write these down.

First Friday in downtown Waco

The weather is finally warming up meaning this First Friday is going to be packed downtown. Not to mention, it’s doubling down on Texas Independence Day making this month that much better. Check out their Facebook page for all of the deals, discounts, and specials around town. A notable addition this month, the Silo Baking Co AirStream will be out front of Gather on Washington Ave— Score.

Eli Young Band @ the Backyard

It’s always cool when Waco gets a larger name to come to town and the Backyard has been upping the music scene as of late pretty aggressively. This month, they’re bringing in Eli Young Band to make a great night jamming to some of their classics like “Crazy Girl” and “Even If It Breaks Your Heart”. Tickets start at $25/person.

Spring at the Silos @ Magnolia Market

Not only is this a MAJOR tourist attraction for us, but it brings in outside shopping experience for us locals. Essentially, the shopping comes to us. That is the epitome of what we like to call a #wacowin.

Texas Food Truck Showdown @ Heritage Square

Much like Spring at the Silos, this event brings people into Waco. Food trucks from, quite literally, all over the state come and try their hand at a culinary battle on wheels. And it also is conveniently on the same weekend as Spring at the Silos so you’ve got a big weekend ahead of you this month.

St. Patrick’s Day

Get you’re green ready because this year St. Patrick’s Day is on a Saturday. So that means a full day of uninterrupted celebrating. That’s right, prepare yourself. We’ll be on the lookout for notable events going on that day, but we’d place a good bet that Barnett’s will celebrate the day the right way.

Sat, 3/17

Deep in the Heart Film Festival @ Waco Hippodrome

A complaint we have previously heard about our great city is the lack of independent film opportunities. Well, we’re here to tell you that we have a whole weekend dedicated to watching, celebrating and learning from independent movies. It’s a big, big deal and we are most definitely pumped that the Deep in the Heart Film Festival will be here in Waco for the second year in a row. Tickets start at $8/person.

Thur, 3/22 – Sun, 3/25 | More info here

Texas Craft Beer Festival @ Dancing Bear Pub

We think the title speaks pretty well for itself. Be there or prepare yourself for FOMO of the worst kind. Tickets start at $30/person.

Have a great month of March, Waco.
